Hey there and welcome! I’m Devon, the author and creator behind Say Yes to the Trip—yes, a playful nod to that addictive TV show, Say Yes to the Dress. But here, it’s all about saying “yes” to the trip of a lifetime!

This blog is for all of you 9-to-5 working people itching to maximize those precious vacation days but finding the travel planning process a bit overwhelming or time-consuming.

Studying Abroad in London

Back in 2012, I hit the jackpot: studying abroad in London, attending Wimbledon, and guess what? The universe threw in the Summer Olympics for good measure! All the while with the best companions: my twin sister and college roommate. Talk about starting my first trip outside of North America with a bang! And I just knew I had to see more.

How I Got Started Blogging

I was still traveling a ton up until 2020 when – bam: COVID changed everything. Like many, I shifted to remote work and started writing about my past trips as a way to escape. With a background in market research, I love researching everything there is to know about each destination I visit and wanted to share my personal insights with others in hopes of providing that extra push to take the trip you’ve been dreaming of.

Where Am I Now?

Currently, I live in Kansas City, having made the move from sunny Tampa, Florida, in 2017. When I’m not off on a weekend adventure exploring new destinations, you can often find me enjoying a game of pickleball, getting lost in the pages of a good book, or catching up on the latest season of Love Island.
