Where to Stay Near Grand Teton National Park in 2024: Best Cabins and Hotels For Every Budget

Are you planning a trip to Grand Teton National Park and trying to figure out where to stay nearby? Since Grand Teton National Park is now the 8th most visited national park in the U.S., visitors now have more accommodations to choose from than ever before.

But, with the park being over 300,000 acres where does one begin?

I’ve been to Grand Teton National Park seven times and stayed in six different hotels and cabins throughout the park. There are plenty of options available, some better than others. I’m here to help you narrow down the choices to the ones truly worth the price.

But first, you must determine whether you prefer lodging within the national park itself or just close by, with access to more amenities, shopping, and dining options nearby.

Next, it’s important to consider the season of your visit, as certain areas in the park will shut down entirely during the winter months.

This guide will provide you with the best lodging options within and near Grand Teton National Park, so you can tailor your stay to perfectly align with your preferences and desired price point (luxury v. mid-range v. budget).

Where to stay near Grand Teton National Park:

Inside Grand Teton National Park: The best option for visitors who want up close and personal views of the Tetons, reduced driving times/traffic, and for those visiting during the summer season. Accommodations here are limited and can oftentimes be fully booked months in advance. *my personal favorite*

Teton Village: A prime choice for winter sports enthusiasts, offering ideal accommodations for skiers and snowboarders. Equally appealing in the summer, it caters to those seeking luxury hotels and convenient access to Grand Teton National Park. Teton Village will also be less crowded than nearby Jackson, WY.

Jackson: An ideal choice for visitors wanting more of a Western “city” atmosphere with shopping, dining, and nightlife within walking distance. Visitors can also enjoy rodeos, the Town Square Shootout (a 65-year tradition that takes place Memorial Day – Labor Day), and the popular elk arch nearby.

Best Places to Stay Inside Grand Teton National Park

If you desire up close and personal views of the Teton mountain range, with accommodations situated inside the national park boundaries, just a few choices are available. In fact, only seven lodges and seven reservation-only campgrounds put you within the confines of Grand Teton National Park.

Staying within the park’s boundaries offers the unique advantage of easy access and minimized drive time to iconic attractions, trails, and wildlife viewing spots. However, most lodging options in the park are only open during the summer-early fall season, except Triangle X Ranch which is available year-round.

Luxury Option: Jenny Lake Lodge

Jenny Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park

Jenny Lake Lodge will provide you with the BEST location in Grand Teton National Park (located right at the base of the Teton Range), but it’s also the most expensive option. The average nightly rate for one of the 37 available cabins is upwards of $1,000. The reason for the higher price tag is due to the resort’s “all-inclusive” nature.

Each reservation comes with the “Signature Stay” package which includes a gourmet breakfast and nightly five-course dinner. Guests also get access to a variety of complimentary activities like horseback riding, cruiser-style bicycles to enjoy, and events such as “Wine and Wickets” located on their grand lawn.

Staying at Jenny Lake Lodge is a great option if you want a stress-free vacation. Everything is conveniently available on-site, and you’ll be within walking distance of popular hiking trails to Hidden Falls, Inspiration Point, and Leigh Lake.

Traveler’s Tip: Staying at Jenny Lake Lodge is a bucket-list item for many people visiting the national park so book early as the cabins sell out well in advance. Cabins are available from June 1st to early October.

Mid-Range Option: Jackson Lake Lodge

Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park

Jackson Lake Lodge is another popular option if you want to stay in Grand Teton National Park. The lodge features 385 rooms — including suites and hotel rooms within the main lodge and nearby cottages that offer a little bit more privacy.

Having stayed in both the main lodge hotel rooms and cottages, I’d rate the cottage rooms a notch higher than the hotel rooms. Both options are priced at about half of what you would find at Jenny Lake Lodge, although they do not include the food package.

Within the lodge, you will find a variety of onsite amenities including popular eateries like The Mural Room (upscale dining) and The Pioneer Grill (diner-style restaurant), and an outdoor swimming pool. And don’t forget to step outside on their terrace — the view of Jackson Lake and the Teton mountain range is incredible!

Jackson Lake Lodge rooms are available to book from mid-May to early October.

Budget Option: Colter Bay Village & Cabins

Colter Bay Village cabin in Grand Teton National Park in the summer

Colter Bay Village is often characterized as a “summer camp for the whole family”. Providing wallet-friendly cabins (with options for 1 or 2 bedrooms), this establishment is ideal for couples, large groups, or families. Cabins are available seasonally from late May to late September.

A marina tailored for kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and picturesque lake cruises, as well as horseback riding opportunities, are all located nearby. There are even several hiking opportunities accessible directly on-site, offering a chance to avoid the crowds and possibly even have the trail to yourself.

Just a short walk from the cabins, you’ll also find dining options like Ranch House and Cafe Court Pizzeria and a general store for any necessary or forgotten items. With cabins starting at $250 that put you inside the national park, the price point is unbeatable.

Best Places to Stay in Teton Village

Teton Village, or “The Village” as it’s commonly referred to, is known for its luxury hotels with plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. In the winter, this area is very popular among skiers. Why? Well, because you are located right next to one of the greatest ski resorts in the world, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, with easy ski-in/ski-out access.

Summer season can be a little slower paced, but with the entrance to Grand Teton National Park (via Granite Canyon Entrance) just 5 minutes away, it’s an excellent area to stay in when visiting the park no matter the season.

This 5-star hotel is the best of the best near Grand Teton National Park. If you want to have a luxurious stay during your trip, this is the place. The resort includes 158 cozy and stylish rooms, plus 8 separate residences with amazing views of the Tetons.

The hotel has gained popularity as a celebrity hotspot, with the likes of Kim Kardashian, Harrison Ford, Sandra Bullock, and Matthew McConaughey all selecting this destination for their stays. So be on the lookout — you never know who you might run into.

Unlike most of the hotels located in the park, the Four Seasons Resort is open year-round, even on the coldest days in Wyoming. The hotel offers two outdoor whirlpools, along with a heated swimming pool, complete with towel warmers.

Rooms range from $1,000 to $6,000 a night. But if you stay a minimum of 6 nights, the sixth night is FREE (valid until Dec 2024). If it fits within your budget, treat yourself!

Mid-Range Option: Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa

Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa in Teton Village

Here it’s all about location, location, location — nestled at the base of the Teton Mountains, Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa is just a short walk to all the shopping and eateries in Teton Village, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort aerial tram + ski lift, and 1-mile from Grand Teton National Park.

The alpine lodge has recently undergone a renovation, featuring a revamped grand lobby and the addition of a new Black Diamond bar. So it has a new clean, crisp feel!

Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa has been recognized as a top ski hotel in the U.S. through USA Today’s Readers’ Choice Travel Awards. And it’s easy to see why — the lodge provides ski and snowboard rentals, ski valet, and overnight ski storage, enabling guests to travel light. Oh, and did I mention, there are also in-room ski boot dryers?

Other on-site amenities that are available to guests no matter the season consists of five hot tubs (including a 22-person rooftop hot tub with mountain views), an indoor and outdoor pool, a highly rated Spur Restaurant & Bar on-site, and a full-service spa that combines Indonesian and Thai-inspired treatments.

Budget Option: Tensleep Condominiums

Tensleep A12 Condo in Teton Village

First, let me preface by saying a decent “budget” stay in Teton Village is hard to find.

While staying in The Village comes with a ton of perks such as easy access to Grand Teton National Park, incredible wildlife viewing, and an upscale “après ski scene”, it’s also known for being quite pricey.

If you are simply looking for a place to lay your head down at night then The Hostel will fit the bill. Or, if you strategically book during the “off-season” (mid-October to early December), you can usually secure more budget-friendly rates from the lodges in the area.

Opting for vacation home rentals also presents an affordable choice, granting you a prime location in Teton Village, albeit without the additional amenities typically provided by the nearby ski lodges and hotels.

Might I suggest Tensleep A12 Condo which provides guests with a full kitchen, shared washer and dryer, complimentary access to the nearby Sundance Swim and Tennis Club, pool and hot tub, and a skier’s shuttle (winter only).

The condominium still puts you within walking distance of the popular restaurants and bars in Teton Village, as well as the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort ski lift. It’s perfect for a couple or small family to enjoy and at a fraction of the price.

Best Places to Stay in Jackson, Wyoming

Jackson or “Jackson Hole” offers a convenient base for exploring the Tetons and caters to those seeking a touch of nightlife after a day of adventures.

However, choosing to stay in Jackson places you at the greatest distance from Grand Teton National Park; though, the Moose Entrance is just a mere 20-minute drive away.

The tradeoff is, that you are within walking distance of the BEST restaurants in the region. I’m not joking, 99% are all located in Jackson. Plus, you’ll have the advantage of being the closest in proximity to the Jackson Hole Airport, just a 15-minute journey.

Luxury Option: Hotel Jackson

Hotel Jackson in Jackson, WY

Hotel Jackson provides luxury hotel accommodations and unrivaled customer service. Established in 2015 by a local family with a deep connection to Jackson Hole, the hotel’s design includes a blend of contemporary aesthetics and traditional mountain lodge elements. Best of both worlds!

Positioned steps away from Jackson Hole Town Square, the hotel is in a prime location that places you within walking distance of the best restaurants, bars, and shopping that Jackson has to offer. Guests can also easily reach Grand Teton National Park (20 minutes away), Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (35 minutes), Jackson Hole Airpot (15 minutes), and Yellowstone National Park (~2 hours).

But what truly sets Hotel Jackson apart is its commitment to personalized service and attention to detail. The staff’s warm hospitality and willingness to go the extra mile truly make your stay memorable. It’s the little touches that make all the difference!

From the homemade treats during turndown, to the thoughtfully provided L’Occitane products in every room, and complimentary coffee and snacks in the library, you’ll be pampered from the very moment you step inside. You might never want to leave (and who can blame you?).

Speaking of which, don’t leave without enjoying the rooftop hot tub as well!

Mid-Range Option: The Wort Hotel

Opened in 1941, this historic hotel is a perfect representation of the “Old West”. The Wort Hotel fully embraces its Jackson Hole roots and provides guests with log beds, original Western art, and plenty of taxidermy in the common areas. Yet, it still maintains an air of elegance. Each detail is thoughtfully curated to create an ambiance that exudes both coziness and contemporary comfort.

Fun fact: The Wort Hotel is recognized and celebrated as one of the finest Historic Hotels in America, a distinction shared by only ~300 other hotels.

Are you determined to check off all the Historic Hotels in America from your bucket list? Give the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs a try, famously dubbed “America’s Most Haunted Hotel.”

The hotel features 55 guest rooms, 5 uniquely decorated suites, and the infamous Silver Dollar Bar which hosts local and regional bands seven days a week until 11 pm.

If you’re seeking a location right at the center of Jackson’s vibrant scene, you’ve found it here. Local shops, galleries, and dining venues are all conveniently accessible. However, if you’re aiming for a quieter retreat amidst the beauty of the outdoors, I recommend considering the alternative option below, situated a mile outside the downtown area.

Budget Option: The Lodge at Jackson Hole

The Lodge at Jackson Hole

The Lodge at Jackson Hole is the classic mountain lodge located just a mile away from downtown Jackson. If you’ve ever stayed at Walt Disney World’s Wilderness Lodge, this hotel bears a resemblance – featuring a rustic ambiance, dark wooden furnishings, and adorable black bear statues scattered throughout the hotel.

While I’ve labeled it a “budget” stay, your experience here will certainly not feel like one. While staying at the hotel, guests will have access to amenities like an indoor-outdoor heated pool, hot tub, spa, sauna, fitness center, and a free shuttle service to downtown Jackson. A complimentary breakfast buffet is also provided from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

If traveling during the winter, the lodge offers a full-service ski rental shop and overnight ski storage. As an extra perk, there’s a current promotion: When you book a stay of three consecutive nights at the hotel, you’ll receive a complimentary half-day lift pass, breakfast, and a beverage voucher for use at the bar (select dates apply).
